Bill Pontarelli has played music with greats of all genres: everyone from Doc Watson to Bob Wilber and Joe Wilder. He swings harder than anyone, hence Bill's honorific nickname: THE BEST IN THE WEST, which was not something he invented himself, but a moniker he has earned over time, from the respect of countless fellow musicians of all stripes across the country. Bill has enlivened the music scene doing everything from Dixieland to Bluegrass, traveling across the world to play his clarinet like nobody's business. He brings to Deco Django a fluid melodic invention that really, really swings.
